Are Joseph’s products Vegan/Vegetarian?

Yes, all Joseph’s Bakery products are vegan, except for our Honey-Wheat Lavash which is vegetarian (due to the honey).

How should Joseph’s products be stored?

Our products should be kept at either room temperature or in the freezer (frozen for up to 1 year).

What can I make with Joseph’s products?

Our products are great for flatbread pizzas, sandwiches, appetizer spreads and more! Lavash flatbread is also perfect for roll-ups and pinwheels and along with our pita bread can be used to make homemade chips.

Are Joseph’s products Kosher?

Yes! Our bakery has been certified Kosher for over 35 years. Look for the kosher symbol on Joseph’s packaging!

We make all of our products in the USA at our bakery in Lawrence, MA.

Authentic flatbread baked fresh since 1972.

Founded by Joseph Boghos, Joseph’s Bakery started making pita bread in a small local bakery in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1972. Driven by the growing demand for our fresh, delicious pita, and by a dedication to quality and service, Joseph’s built a foundation for continuing growth throughout New England and beyond.

Today, we are a majority women-owned business led by the third generation of the Boghos family. This October 2022, Joseph’s hits a new milestone of a half-century of making pita and flatbreads since our founding in 1972 in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Joseph's Bakery makes all different types of flatbreads, is the easiest way to explain it. Pita bread is our staple. It's often what people first think of when they hear the Joseph's name, but we also make lavash and wraps.

In 1952, Joseph Boghos, immigrated with his family from Damascus, Syria, to the greater Boston area. Missing the flavors of home, he recreated some of his favorite dishes in his kitchen. One of these was an authentic pita bread made from a recipe handed down through his family.
